Campaign Update

Many of you have asked for more campaign updates so I wanted to send you one before you start your weekend.

First, the Washington Post today again moved Missouri's U.S. Senate race even further back on the list of seats they believe are likely to switch parties. We are now at No. 10 which means the pundits believe there are 9 other U.S. Senate races that are more likely to switch parties than ours. Just last year, some pundits had believed our race was among the Top 3 most likely to switch. Now, thanks to your help and support, we are barely on the list.

The Washington Post's analysis also noted that Robin Carnahan will "struggle to run as an outsider." It's true. Robin Carnahan will not be able to escape the fact that she and her family define Washington insider. Robin Carnahan moved to Washington, D.C. in 1993 to work for the Export-Import Bank in Washington. Carnahan's grandfather was a Congressman in Washington. Carnahan's mother was a U.S. Senator in Washington. And Carnahan's brother is a Congressman in Washington.

Second, our candidate issued a statement today on the dismal news that the unemployment rate remains at 9.7% with another 36,000 jobs lost in February. He pointed out that Washington Democrats have spent trillions and buried our future in a sea of red ink. But did you see Harry Reid's statement on the Senate floor? He was jubilant about the new jobs numbers. Reid said "Today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good." Our campaign issued a new web video on his statement. You can watch it here:

Finally, Robin Carnahan is scheduled to make a rare appearance this weekend at a political meeting called Democrat Days. We hear attendance is down this year. We think Missourians would like to know what letter grade she would give Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama for their performance over the last year. Maybe someone will ask her.

As always our candidate is busy traveling the state. Look for our "Jobs for Missouri's Future" campaign bus in your town soon.

Have a great weekend!
